Hopper Developments is a privately owned land development company based at Orewa, just north of Auckland. The company was formed in 1953 and prides itself as being New Zealand’s most experienced marine and coastal resort development company.
Our team at Hopper Developments honed their planning and design skills with projects such as Pauanui Waterways and Whitianga Waterways on the Coromandel Peninsula. When the opportunity to become involved at Marsden Cove arrived, we were delighted to apply our experience to a new location with quite different challenges such as a natural deep water port with large tidal range.
Geographically the location is quite spectacular so we felt a deep obligation to come up with a concept that would be equally impressive. I am confident that anyone who takes the time to inspect what we have planned will see the vision of this development, and be thoroughly impressed with the way Marsden Cove complements the stunning natural landscape.
I can think of no other location in Northland which had such wonderful potential to create a world class marina, waterfront, boulevard and canal township. Our ambition is that Marsden Cove becomes a 'must visit' for anyone who enjoys boating between Auckland and the Bay of Islands.
