Vessels arriving in New Zealand at Marsden cove
Marsden Cove is now an official NZ Customs Dept port of entry
The Whangarei Marine Promotions Group recently succeeded in its lobby to allow Vessels arriving in New Zealand at Marsden cove
Marsden Cove is now an official NZ Customs Dept port of entry
international cruising craft to make Whangarei their official port of entry into New Zealand and subsequently engage the services of a very capable local marine industry.
Vessels using Marsden Cove Marina as their entry point will now enjoy the convenience of an international standard marina. Crew can step ashore and arrange to have their craft worked on by the diverse ship building and servicing companies located nearby.
The required customs gates have been installed at the Marina’s B Pier.
Arriving vessels
Do not anchor in New Zealand waters before clearing customs
If you are a foreign vessel arriving in New Zealand at Marsden Cove, fax or email advance notice before leaving your last port.
At least 48 hours before arrival you must contact NZ Customs with your estimated time and place of arrival through one of these methods:
* call Taupo Maritime Radio (ZLM) on SSB 4125, 6215, 8291 or 12290 Kbz
* call Russell Radio on SSB 4445, 6516 or 13103 Kbz to report for you
* e-mail yachts@customs.govt.nz
